Sustainable development is the catalyst for a new participative approach in design and planning processes. The very fundamentals of a project: durability, flexibility, technical and ecological adequacy, cultural and social acceptance are being readdressed respecting society’s new concerns and fighting inequality.

LOCUS through its GLOBAL AWARD FOR SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE™ created in 2006 by the architect and professor Jana Revedin seeks to identify and reward the most innovative and engaged architects from all corners of the globe and to federate them in theoretical research and participative urban renewal projects.

LOCUS is supported by the GDF-Suez Foundation, Bouygues Batiment International and put under the Patronage of UNESCO. The Cité de l’architecture & du patrimoine Paris is LOCUS´ cultural partner and guarantees the presence of the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture through its European and international network.
